Word and character counts that matter

Essays, social posts, meta descriptions and SMS-style limits all care about length. Counting words by whitespace is the common everyday method; character counts with and without spaces help when a platform enforces a hard limit.

Title Case here capitalises each word simply — style guides (AP, Chicago) often leave small words lowercase. Use sentence case or manual edits when publishing formal titles.

Frequently asked questions

What is Title Case?
This tool capitalises the first letter of each word. It does not implement advanced style-guide exceptions for small words.
How are words counted?
Words are counted by splitting on whitespace after trimming. Consecutive spaces do not create extra words.
Does character count include spaces?
Yes — total characters include spaces. A separate count without spaces is also shown.
Is text uploaded?
No. All processing is local to your browser.
