Free UK Tools (Free UK Tools & Calculators) is an independent UK website that publishes free calculators and short explainers for everyday money questions — mortgages, stamp duty, take-home pay, VAT, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, National Insurance, loans and similar.

Who publishes this site

Free UK Tools is written and maintained as a small independent publisher focused on clear UK money maths. We are not a bank, broker, law firm or tax practice, and we are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. Nothing on this site is financial, tax, legal or medical advice, and nothing here is an offer of credit or a product recommendation.

How rates are reviewed

Money tools use simplified, commonly published UK band structures and formulae. Each finance page shows when rates were last reviewed and links to official sources such as GOV.UK and HMRC so you can check the current rules yourself. When a figure on an official bill, payslip or lender illustration differs from our estimate, trust the official document.

Written guides, not just forms

Calculators answer “what number?”. The guides answer “why does it look like that?”. Each article is written for this site — worked examples, band tables, and the cases we deliberately leave out — then linked to the matching tool and to GOV.UK / HMRC where relevant.

Privacy

Every interactive tool runs in your browser. We do not store the numbers or text you enter in a database. Hosting, cookies and advertising choices are described in the Privacy Policy.
