Free UK Tools is a set of free calculators and plain-English guides for everyday UK money questions: mortgage repayments, stamp duty, take-home pay, National Insurance, VAT, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, student loans, redundancy pay and similar.
Who runs Free UK Tools
Free UK Tools is published by Aivora Digital, a small independent web studio. Aivora Digital builds the calculators, writes the guides, checks the rates and thresholds against GOV.UK and HMRC, and fixes mistakes when readers point them out. The site has been online since August 2026.
What you will find here
- 19 calculators, mostly for UK tax, pay, property and borrowing, plus a few everyday ones for percentages, fuel cost and working days.
- 14 guides that explain how each figure is worked out, with worked examples, band tables and links to the official rules.
Every calculator works in your browser. There is no account and no paywall, and we do not store the numbers you type.
How the figures are checked
Each calculator uses the published UK rates and a standard formula, and shows the date its rates were last checked against official sources. Each page links to those sources, so you can check the current rules yourself. The methodology page explains how we choose thresholds, what we leave out and when we update.
What Free UK Tools is not
We are not a bank, broker, law firm or tax adviser, and we are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. Results are estimates for guidance. They are not financial, tax or legal advice, and we do not recommend products. If a payslip, tax bill or lender document gives a different figure, trust the official document.
Corrections and ideas
If you spot a mistake or want a calculator we do not have, email freeuktools@aivora.digital. We read every message. When we correct a page, its “Last updated” date changes.
How the site is funded
Free UK Tools is free to use. It is funded by advertising from Google AdSense. Adverts never change a calculator’s results. Our privacy policy explains how advertising and analytics cookies work and how to change your choice.
